Specifications of Multilayer Analyzer Array Detector
The multilayer analyzer array
detector selects fluorescence photons based on diffraction principles. The detector has very good energy resolution and very high count rate. It is tunable in a large energy region.
Number of elements: 20 EnergyRange:
> 2 KeV, optimized in 2-5 KeV range. Energy resolution (FWHM):* 60 eV @ S Ka
120 eV @ Ca Ka
Solid angle: 5% of 4 p @ 2 KeV
2.5% of 4 p @ 4 KeV Data collection:
Options of using large area scintillator PMT detector Or large area photo-diodes with 10 elements.
Maximum count rate: Up to 108 “good counts” in pulse counting mode (depending
on the time structure of the synchrotron).
Much higher maximum count rate in current mode.
Motors: Servo (with encoder) or stepping motors are used to tune
the detector to different energies.
Entrance slits: Options of using variable width and fixed width (2 sets)
slits. The construction of the slits will be Cu or other materials.
Dimension (estimate): 7”(long) X 6-7”(wide) X 15” (high), when using
photo-diode detectors.
Detector control:
Software based on Galil motor controller is available.
Note: The specs are based on a particular design. The number may vary in some cases when design is finalized.
* When x-ray dimension at the sample is approximately 0.2 mm vertical
and 0.4 mm horizontal.
